Orthopedic Surgery Program at Sarasota Memorial

From injury prevention programs to the latest diagnostics, surgical tools and rehabilitative therapies, Sarasota Memorial offers a complete continuum of orthopedic care for people with injuries and disorders of the joints and spine.

Collaboration is the cornerstone of Sarasota Memorial’s orthopedics program — and the key to its longstanding reputation for superior patient outcomes and care. Working closely with specialists in neurology, rheumatology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, our orthopedic surgeons and specialists provide evaluation, treatment and rehabilitative care for a wide variety of disorders, including arthritis, tendon and nerve injuries, tumors, ligament, muscle and rotator cuff tears, complex fractures and prior surgical failures.

Led by Medical Director Edward Stolarksi, MD, the team performs more than 5,500 surgeries each year, helping more than 10,000 patients each year regain their mobility and quality of life as safely and quickly as possible.

Our fellowship-trained surgeons provide the latest, evidence-based treatments and therapies to help patients return to functional, pain-free lives; options range from nonsurgical techniques to minimally invasive arthroscopy, total joint replacement and complex revisions. Advanced surgical systems and computer-assisted tools extend our orthopedic team’s skills and offer a level of precision not possible with the human hand and eye alone.

Our orthopedic specialists are nationally recognized for expertise in:

  • Hip, knee and shoulder joint replacement (total and partial)
  • Complex revisions of previous / failing joint replacements
  • Anterior Supine Intermuscular (ASI) hip replacement
  • Spine surgery, including expertise in adult scoliosis, stenosis, motion-sparing spinal decompression, spinal fusion, discectomies and laminectomies
  • Interventional / neurointerventional radiology
  • Traumatic orthopedic injuries
  • Pediatric orthopedics, orthopedic spine and sports medicine.
